A Carer is anyone who provides unpaid help and support to a friend, neighbour, or relative who could not manage otherwise because of frailty, illness, addiction or disability. Very often people do not recognise themselves as 'carers'; they just think of themselves as family members, friends or neighbours. A Carer may not always live with the person they care for, but their help can often be essential in enabling that person to go on living independently.
