The Enterprise Centre

The Enterprise Centre is a registered Charity, and also trades under the name of Naturally Enterprising from our bespoke education and conservation centre. This amazing facility is situated in the heart of the Kirklees Valley Nature Reserve and is purpose-built to provide Outdoor Alternative Education provision with equine assisted learning, learning with horses and animal therapy including dogs, goats and cats. We also host 2 large purpose-built training spaces used for our training sessions or just to get out of the rain.

We are always looking for volunteers to help with the grounds and the animals and we host a range of innovative, creative, and enterprising projects using a combination of the great outdoors, conservation, enterprise skills, women's groups, gardening, art therapy, health and well-being coaching, teamwork, and confidence building. We help young people, women and NEETs develop their self-esteem and aspire to great things for themselves and their communities.

For the community, we offer a friendship café, pavilion, community gardens, and access to the Magical Secret Garden and wildlife pond. The cafe is open every day as an honesty cafe and is serviced to offer breakfast baps on a Sunday morning.

We are currently offering a range of free events with our Heritage lottery funding.

  • Please see our Facebook page for what’s on Facebook

  • All events offer free food to help our community to engage whilst being observant of the cost-of-living crisis.
