The Northern Care Alliance (NCA) is undertaking activities for falls prevention week, week commencing 16^th September 2024, to coincide with World Alzheimer’s day on the 21^st September.

They are focusing on doing a “Knowing me, knowing you” roadshow around the Northern care alliance (which includes Fairfield, Bury). This is focused on strength-based conversation with patients around falls risk and supporting those with cognitive impairments to utilise this is me style documents to support persons normal routine/mobility, and reduce distressed behaviour.

The NCA will be at Fairfield Hospital on Thursday walking round the wards focusing on strength based conversation and getting to know the patient better. Looking at appropriate risk assessments, conversations with patients around their individualised risk of falling in hospital.
