Bury is well served by public transport with excellent road and tram links. There are a number of different bus companies operating throughout the borough, and thanks to the Metrolink tram service, Manchester and its excellent rail links are just 20 minutes away.
TfGM
Transport for Greater Manchester is Greater Manchester's public transport organisation. Their Travelshop, based at Bury Interchange, provides free leaflets, route maps, timetables and the opportunity to buy bus (including National Express), train and tram tickets, including the full range of Travelcards and season tickets.
National Rail Enquiries
This provides an easy way to get detailed full information about local and national rail services including train times and ticket prices. You can purchase tickets, passes and season cards in advance on their website which also has a local and national journey planner and live departure and arrival information. Bury does not have its own train station. However, thanks to the Metrolink tram service, Manchester and its excellent rail links are just 20 minutes away.
Virgin Trains Journey Care
Virgin Trains welcomes customers with specific needs or who require extra assistance when they are travelling by train. The service can provide rail information, arrange mobility assistance, reserve seats and wheelchair spaces, provide help getting on and off trains, buy tickets or order railcards.
