Handyperson Service run by Age UK Bury for small DIY type work.

Below list gives examples of the type of work we can usually help with. The list is not exhaustive so please contact us to discuss the work you require as we may well be able to help :

Small repairs - putting up curtain rails, shelves and pictures
Assembling flat pack furniture
Move/ or rearrange furniture in the home, (e.g. move a bed from upstairs to downstairs)
Minor plumbing work such as changing taps, and toilet flushing mechanisms,
Safety measures - fitting smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors and grab rails, handrails
Home security - fitting door and window locks, door chains and door viewers, key safes
Energy efficiency checks - installing draught excluders, radiator heat reflectors and energy efficient lightbulbs
Carpet cleaning
Minor gardening work such as mowing a lawn and trimming hedges (Note: We don't have garden tools so would need to use yours and we are unable to dispose of garden waste)
Fence painting
