About this service
On Wednesday afternoons at 1pm, we open our doors to the community at our Purple Room Community Cafe. This is a key element of our strategy to tackle loneliness, which can affect so many people.
You will be greeted by friendly faces and a welcoming cuppa! Meeting new people, enjoying board games, table-tennis, pool, and craft making, there are also Fed staff on hand to lend a listening ear for anyone wanting support.
You can play a round of Rummikub or Scrabble; get creative making cards; read the newspaper; check your emails; do quizzes and puzzles, or play table-tennis or pool. We also have occasional talks from guest speakers. There’s no need to pre-book – just turn up!
Pre-booked, one-to-one appointments can be arranged with our Community Advice and Support Team (CAST).
If you’re thinking of coming for the first time and feel a little shy or would like further information please get in touch.
