We are an enthusiastic sheltered housing gardening group which has run successfully for over 10 years, brightening the area where we are through social gardening for the well-being and enjoyment for all residents, families and friends. Great friendships are made in a community supporting one another in this gentle pastime in gorgeous gardens and beautiful surroundings.

Our volunteer gardeners are 7 in total (All ladies) 3 in their late 80s, 2 well in their 70s and 2 in their 60s. Families, friends and visitors can enjoy sitting under the parasols having afternoon tea.

We plan to provide a workable management plan for our existing and future volunteer gardeners. The rich interchange of lifetime skills will benefit our community for years to come

Our aim is to change the existing planting scheme for the 24 various sized flowerbeds to more sustainable perennial plants to help resident volunteer gardeners in our sheltered housing complex. We plan to convert 2 of the 4 rockeries into flower beds, this will be achieved by removal of grey slates around existing plants and shrubs which become very slippery when weeding. We will put stone edging around the 2 rockery beds to prevent soil spilling onto the paths

A semi-circle flowerbed is to be cleared and the ground will be replenished using mixture of fresh compost and soil. We will then replant with existing shrubs and perennials, and also introduce new plants.
We also aim to replant flowering perennials shrubs along the fence line in Chislehurst Close
