Mersey Drive Enhanced Provision for ASD & Social Communication Difficulties

0 Reviews

For Foundation stage, key stage 1 and 2 pupils with an ASD or social communication difficulty, who are assessed as having reasoning skills suggestive of an average or above average ability.

The Enhanced Provision for pupils with ASD and Social Communication Disorder at Mersey Drive School is a small provision where pupils receive intense specialist input from a Multi-Disciplinary Team on areas that may be preventing them from accessing the national curriculum in a mainstream environment e.g language, sensory issues, flexibility of thought or behaviours associated with ASD.

Pupils in the Assessment unit stay for 18 months - 2 years before returning to local community primary schools where appropriate. Pupils placed in the permanent class can remain there until the end of key stage 2.
