The GMAC Project aims to be a point of contact for anyone in Greater Manchester needing information about autism and related issues. As well as providing a wide range of information by telephone and email the service also directs people to relevant services.

Over the next 6 months, we will be concentrating on the following areas of work:-

  • improving the information we have on our website on how individuals can access services locally and what is available across Greater Manchester
  • training professionals, running workshops for parents and developing new ways and new resources to do this better
  • talking to and consulting with autistic people and family members in Greater Manchester, particularly around the priorities for support in adult life and
  • developing guidance and good practice examples for services in Greater Manchester

For more information on what we will be working on you can view the Service Specification on the Greater Manchester Autism Consortium website.  www.autismgm.org.uk

 PLEASE NOTE:

Because of these new priorities we will be unable to provide to individuals as much advice/information on the telephone and email as we have been able to do in the past.

As from 10th October until 31st March you will be able to telephone us on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 9am  and 12 noon.

Please bear in mind that as a result of our reduced capacity this will mean our responses to enquiries may take longer.
