Become a Volunteer for STRIVE Support vulnerable people and really make a difference.

STRIVE is part of Greater Manchester Police and Bury Council; we work together to support victims and perpetrators of Domestic Abuse.  You will be provided with training, advice, guidance and support to help you carry out your activities and develop your skills

 Volunteering Expectations

Could you undertake home visits to support victims of domestic abuse by making referrals and to relevant organisations? As well as making a difference in your community, volunteering be a great way of meeting new people, learning new skills and putting existing ones to good use. We can support you as a STRIVE volunteer, by:

  • Providing an excellent training packages and learning opportunities to enable you to grow and develop whilst feeling supported in the volunteer role
  • Being clear about the standards that are expected of you
  • Ensuring you have regular support from your manager and colleagues
  • Ensuring the views and opinions of each volunteer are heard
  • Providing clear communication with volunteers
  • Ensuring the safety of each volunteer is paramount
