Have you ever felt helpless about Climate Change?

Ever wondered if there’s anything you can do to help tackle it ?

A group of concerned Whitefield residents have got together with the idea that working together we can begin to make effective changes in our home town and in our own lives.

They recently launched the Whitefield Environmental Forum with an inaugural tree planting in Philips Park. With help from the Prestwich Environmental Forum and support from Bury Council they are embarking on a year long campaign to increase biodiversity across Whitefield. They aim to plant 100s of trees to capture carbon, and to change some of our sterile grass areas into wildflower meadows, with help for embattled wildlife along the way.

If your organisation or school has grounds where you’d like us to facilitate a wild flower or tree event please contact us at whitefieldef@gmail.com

We will provide the trees or seeds, tools, aftercare info, plaques and certificates etc at no cost to yourselves.

We are working alongside other community groups to help Bury Council achieve its challenging targets for carbon neutrality as set out in its Climate Action Plan.
