About this service

Through the Bury Multi-agency Cancer Service local people can access a range of free and confidential support and advice from local organisations, including;

  • Financial and benefits advice
  • Counselling and emotional support
  • Employment advice and support
  • Health and lifestyle advice
  • Complementary therapies
  • Opportunity to meet other people affected by cancer

Local people affected by cancer can access information, guidance and support by calling a single point of contact telephone number. A key worker will either take your call or get back to you within two working days who will then refer them for support and advice to an appropriate local organisation that includes:

  • Age UK Bury
  • Asian Development Association of Bury (ADAB)
  • Bury Exercise and Therapy Scheme (BEATS)
  • Bury Lifestyle Service
  • Bury Society for Blind and Partially Sighted People
  • Chai Cancer Care
  • Citizens Advice Bureau (Bury)
  • Creative Living Centre
  • Health and Employment Service (Bury Council)
  • Supportive Stem

They can also use it as an opportunity to meet other people affected by cancer.

The service can be used by anybody aged 18 and over, who is registered with a Bury GP practice. You are able to self refer into the service.
