About this service
The nature and wellbeing service is an exciting and innovative ecotherapy offer run by Lancashire Wildlife Trust.
Eligibility: those aged 18 and over that experience feelings of anxiety, low mood, isolated or have physical or mental health challenges.
Face-to-face sessions are weekly at Phillips Park in Prestwich. Other locations are situated throughout Lancashire. Primarily, the service is all about getting outside to experience the many benefits of being out in nature and offer individuals to join a small group.
The Nature and Wellbeing service aims to help by empowering people and their communities to connect with local environments in order to learn new skills, build resilience, meet new people and improve their physical and mental wellbeing.
Being passionate about nature, a core focus is connecting people to nature, aid nature in its recovery and improving their wellbeing. These practical outdoor sessions align with the Five Ways to Wellbeing - Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Learn and Give.
Around these, we deliver on five key themes of our own: conservation, nature walks, growing, bushcraft and mindfulness. Research has shown that such activities can reduce stress, anxiety and many low-level mental health conditions whilst also improving physical fitness, health and wellbeing.
Sessions are free with up to £8 travel reimbursement for each session.
