About this service

The Big Fandango is an Arts and Crafts centre to support Mental Wellbeing. We are open to anyone in the community over the age of 14 who wishes to learn to sew, use our space to sew, quilt, do dressmaking and related activities activities or to learn a new skill.

we run a youth group on Monday 4.30-6.30 for young girls 14- 18 who wish to learn dressmaking

We also have specialist one off workshops which are advertised on our Facebook page.

Suicide prevention is at the heart of everything we do and we run monthly suicide prevention training courses for local businesses, 3rd sector organisations and the general public, this is on the last Thursday of every month. We also run in-house suicide prevention courses for local businesses and schools.

We run a peer support group for families bereaved by suicide on the 1st Saturday of every month from 1.30-2.30 pm

For further information on workshops and suicide prevention training please contact us at: info@thebigfandango.com

Adult Peer Support Group (18+)

The Big Fandango is expanding its peer support services to offer dedicated groups for families who have been bereaved by suicide. We provide a safe and understanding space for individuals to connect with others who share similar experiences.

Adult Peer Support Group (18+) Our established group for adults meets on the first Saturday of every month from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at The Big Fandango, 34 Bolton Street, Bury BL9 0LL.

Junior Peer Support Session (11-17 years old) We are excited to launch a new session specifically for young people aged 11 to 17. This group will meet on the first Saturday of each month from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. This is a peer support offer, not a counselling service. It's an opportunity for young people to take some "time-out," play games, engage in art and craft activities, and in the future, participate in day trips and events.

Important Safeguarding Information for Junior Sessions: For safeguarding purposes, parents/carers are required to stay on-site throughout the session. Additionally, it is essential that any young person attending is aware that the family member died by suicide.

Introductory Coffee Morning for Parents/Carers We are holding a coffee morning in an informal format where parents and carers can learn more about our services. You are welcome to stay on for the adult session afterward.

Date: Saturday, August 2nd Time: 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM

Self-Referral: In the first instance, parents/carers must contact us to self-refer by emailing info@thebigfandango.com
