If you are planning to eat out or having a takeaway check the 'Food Hygiene Rating' of the premise on the Food Standards Agency website.
The food hygiene rating given to a business reflects the standards of food hygiene found on the date of the most recent inspection by the Local Authority. The food hygiene rating is not a guide to food quality.
The hygiene ratings are as follows:
- 5 = very good
- 4 = good
- 3 = generally satisfactory
- 2 = improvement necessary
- 1 = major improvement necessary
- 0 = urgent improvement necessary
