Household Composition

According to the 2021 census, 64.2% of households in Bury are single-family households, and 30.8% are one-person households. These are similar to the figures seen nationally, where 63% of households are single-family households and 30.2% are one person households. It is also consistent with the figure for Bury in the 2011 census, when 63.7% of households were single-family, and 31.1% were one person households. Within Bury, Ramsbottom had the highest number of single-family households, and Whitefield East had the lowest number. Radcliffe had the highest number of one person households, and Sedgley Park had the lowest. The table below and map show the number of single-family households by MSOA in Bury.

Ainsworth & Bradley Fold had the highest percentage of single family households at 73.6%.  Radcliffe the lowest at 52.2%.

Tottington had the highest percentage of single family households at 70.3%.  Moorside the lowest at 58.8%.

 

St Mary’s had the highest percentage of one-person households at 35.3%.  Sedgley was the lowest at 26.0%.
