Enabling new licencing applicants to check the proposed venue against a range of data metrics including health, crime and deprivation on a Lower Super Output Area footprint.

The Bury Alcohol Licensing Matrix is a tool which enables new licencing applicants to check the proposed venue against a range of data metrics including health, crime and deprivation on a Lower Super Output Area (LSOA)* footprint.

*A Lower-layer Super Output Area (LSOA) is a small geographic unit used for statistical analysis in England and Wales. LSOAs were introduced by the ONS (Office for National Statistics) for the Census and are designed to contain a consistent population size, typically around 1,000-3,000 residents or 400-1,200 households.

To use the matrix simply follow the steps below:

  1. Select the LSOA code and change the criteria to “all”
  2. Enter the post code to obtain the LSOA results
