School children and full-time students

The overall number of schoolchildren and full-time students aged five years and over has increased since 2011, however, as a proportion of all usual residents aged five years and over, the percentage in 2021 (20.4%) is very similar to 2011 (20.5%). Bury’s figures are very similar to England and Wales.

The table below shows the number of schoolchildren and full time students by MSOA in Bury.

Sedgley Park had the highest percentage of students at 33.7%, with Nuttall & Tottington the lowest at 16.7%. 

The table below shows the percentage of schoolchildren and full time students by ward.

Sedgley had the highest percentage of students at 29.9%, with North Manor the lowest at 16.8%.
