Bolton and Bury Swifts

We are a Conservation Group endeavouring to protect colonies of migratory birds; Swifts, Swallows and House Martins, across the Borough. Swifts and House Martins nest on houses not in trees, Swallows nest in farm outbuildings. We concentrate on raising awareness so their nests are not blocked or knocked down. We are working with Housing Associations, Local Authorities and the public. We provide talks to schools, youth groups and community groups. We also provide specialist care for grounded Swifts, Swallows and Martins. Our group has an active membership and we host a Swift Watching Evening each Summer and hold our AGM with an illustrated talk each November.
