At Dream Big Little One Nursery  we want every family to enjoy the time they and their extended family spend with us.

About Our Nursery

Our story so far…

Established in the 90s by Linda Gilmartin, the iconic white building belonging to an old Government Department began a new life as a children’s day nursery. Going from strength to strength the nursery was then bought by husband and wife team, Foundations for Learning. The nursery continued to grow and the current team we have today began its journey. In May 2018 Foundations for Learning became Dream Big Little One. Another family concern, but this time mum and daughter, Sonja & Christine Butterworth. With a background in education, Sonja’s passion has always been to ensure the best start in life for all children. Having been a class teacher, SENCO, deputy head, adviser, consultant head teacher and more latterly an Executive Principal, Sonja decided getting it right from the beginning was paramount. She currently has her own consultancy business Dream Big Consulting supporting schools and teachers on their improvement journeys. She is also a School Effectiveness Partner for Bury LA, a Trustee of Vision Multi- Academy Trust and Magistrate with Her Majesty’s Court and Tribunal Service in Manchester. Christine’s expert financial and legal background compliments this, and Pam Grierson our knowledgeable and experienced nursery manager, completes the team.

Dream Big Little One’s philosophy is all about putting your little ones at the heart of everything we do. Their care and development are our up-most priority.

Pam, our manager, Nancy, our deputy manager and their team are well established and work hard to ensure all our children have the best experiences. Our newly refurbished rooms and all weather, soft play surfaces outside enable endless possibilities both indoors and outdoors.

Tracy is Dream Big Little One’s super experienced cook. Tracy has worked in nurseries for many years, so knows exactly what our little ones need. She is also a fully qualified nursery nurse so understands child development as well as their nutritional needs. This combination means that all our meals are perfect for our little one’s curious taste buds. All our food is cooked from scratch with fresh ingredients and where possible, locally sourced produce. Our menus are fresh and exciting and based on Tracy’s expertise and ideas and feedback from the children, staff and parents.
