The Council has received funding from the government, to help the most vulnerable in the borough from hardship this winter.
Free school meals
The Council will provide £15 vouchers to continue the Free School Meals scheme through the October and February half term, Christmas, and Easter holidays.
Targeted support for Council Tax Support claimants
Households in receipt of both Council Tax Support and Universal Credit, will, receive a £100 voucher. We will contact all eligible households to arrange distribution of these vouchers. If you have provided an email address we will contact you by email. If you believe you are eligible and have not received an email please check your junk or spam folders. If we do not hold an email address we will write to you.
Targeted support for vulnerable households
Financial help is available for vulnerable households who are working with support agencies in the borough. Applications can be made on their behalf by support agencies.
If residents are experiencing hardship and not currently engagement with public services, you can can contact your respective Community Hub in relation to this:

- northcommunityhub@bury.gov.uk for residents living in Elton, North Manor, Ramsbottom or Tottington wards
- prestwichcommunityhub@bury.gov.uk for residents living in Holyrood, Sedgley or St. Mary's wards
- westcommunityhub@bury.gov.uk for residents living in Church, Radcliffe East, Radcliffe North or Radcliffe West wards
- whitefieldcommunityhub@bury.gov.uk for residents living in Besses, Pilkington Park or Unsworth wards
