Mill School Bury is a specialist school for children and young people at Key Stage 2, 3 and 4 (Aged 7- 16)  with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) and ASC (Autism Spectrum Conditions) opening in February 2020. It is an independent school, part of the Kedleston group of schools which have been providing excellent education and care for children with SEMH and ASC across the country for many years.

Mill School Bury caters for up to 50 children and young people, providing bespoke individualised curriculums for each pupil to enable them to grow and develop learning and living skills in a wide range of curriculum areas.

Mill School Bury, is a bespoke learning space, specifically designed to create a warm, calm and welcoming atmosphere to enable children to settle in their learning environment.  Mill School Bury offers a state of the art learning setting to fully cater for a wide range of learning needs, including; specialist classrooms, sensory rooms, an immersive technology room, rebound therapy, horticulture areas, gym facilities and an outdoor football pitch. Alongside specialist teachings and therapeutic interventions.

Staff including Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists are highly skilled, well trained and have extensive experience in supporting children and young people with SEMH, ASC and challenging behaviour. 

Class sizes are small to enable children’s needs to be met. The bespoke curriculum includes access to the National Curriculum as well as to a focus on gaining meaningful qualifications and skills to support life outside school.  Outdoor learning is a high priority with access to a forest school, and sensory learning environments.
