An independent specialist day and residential college for students aged 19-25 with a broad range of complex low-incidence needs including learning, physical, sensory and behavioural disabilities.
All of the young people at Royal College Manchester experience significant and complex communication difficulties. We offer specialist three-year courses designed to support young people with:
§ Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC)
§ Multi-sensory impairment (MSI)
§ Severe Learing Difficulties (SLD
The college has a fully accessible site with an extensive range of facilities including specialist teaching and personal care environments, IT suite and life skills room, sensory room and media suite, hydrotherapy pool, swimming pool, inclusive fitness suite and sports hall.
Courses are delivered on site and within the community; there is also an off-site internship programme in operation. Specifically designed curriculum for communication, independence, self-advocacy, work skills and leisure pursuits.
All teaching rooms are at ground level. Swipe system in operation for specialised areas. Accessible exit doors throughout college.
