Recipes
At Trust House we link what we cook in our community café with what we offer in our food pantry, meaning that visitors can see how they can turn their raw ingredients into healthy and cost-effective family meals.
We produce recipe cards for our visitors to take away with them so that they can duplicate the meals at home.

Budget recipes and advice
A variety of handy recipes and advice from easy budget meals, store cupboard recipes, students on a budget, energy saving tips and more.
Ask your visitors for some of their favourite recipes, remember this is all about community involvement and participation.
We have also tapped into some great resources for recipe sharing which highlight how to cook if fuel poverty is an issue. The following resource from our friends at Cracking Good Food is really helpful for hints and tips on cost effective cooking.
Another helpful resource has been created by Open Kitchen providing ideas and inspiration for groups supporting communities living with food insecurity.
Please click the button below to Open Kitchen slow cooker recipe videos (recipes and videos are free download and watch). The recipes use a slow cooker to ensure low energy costs as well as low ingredient costs, and all recipes can be adapted easily to incorporate any fresh, tinned or frozen vegetables, to help to reduce food waste at home.
Sustainability
As well as thinking about sustainable food produce, there are other avenues you could pursue to promote sustainability and making positive changes to support environmental awareness.
Just some of the ideas we have used at Trust House which have linked in to our food pantry:
· Making reusable Tote bags from old clothing
· Using paper bags for vegetables or biodegradable bags
· Reusing egg boxes
· Reducing plastic for all loose food products
