Childminders in Bury

Welcome to the Childminder section of the Bury Directory where you will find details of local childminders.

Childminders look after children in their own home and are registered and inspected by OFSTED. They are registered to look after a maximum of 6 children under 8 years old, with (usually) no more than 3 of the children under the age of 5 and this must include the childminder's own children. They can also care for children over the age of 8 too, as long as it doesn’t impact on the care of the younger children.

Many Childminders offer before and after school care and also holiday care too.

Being Self Employed, Childminders decide on their own working hours and also costs. Many are willing to be flexible and may work early mornings, evenings and even some weekends.

As these are private businesses costs will vary but you can check if you qualify for the Childcare Element of the Working Tax Credit or make a claim by calling the tax credit helpline on 0345 300 3900.
