During the COVID-19 lockdown, our service is not seeing people in person, like many other services.

So, to accommodate the needs of people in experiencing mental health, we are making two significant changes during this period.

We are offering video support groups via Zoom. It’s really easy to use. You just need an internet connected device. Once you have downloaded the App, we do all the technical stuff.

We are running a phone support service. That means, we are ringing people up to check in with them, provide emotional support and signposting and referrals to other services when needed.

For more information please contact the team on 07758737616 (office hours Mon-Fri), or email jordanfahy@buryinvolvementgroup.org

BIG in RECOVERY is a free group open to anyone over the age of 18 who consider themselves to have a mental health condition.

The Recovery Group welcomes speakers in to talk on a topic relating to mental health and wellbeing.

Talks are given by a range of people including Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Therapists, Lecturers and people with lived experience. Recently topics have included Psychosis and Schizophrenia; Trauma; Mental Health and Spirituality; Agoraphobia, panic attacks, anxiety and depression; and Dissociation.

Topics are different each week so there is sure to be something which is relevant to you. We provide a welcoming, safe environment where we enjoy sharing our experiences, supporting one another and providing a successful journey of recovery. The group enables you to learn about mental health, improving your knowledge and understanding.

We meet every Tuesday evening at 6.15pm

at the Bury United Reformed Church, Parsons Lane, Bury.

At BIG you have the opportunity to meet new people and make friends, gaining peer support and providing support to others.

Friendly and supportive. No referrals. No waiting lists. No pressure to speak. Just turn up.

What people say:

“It’s helpful to hear professionals; the topics are good and informative.”

“Learning we are not alone as sufferers.”
