The Digital Independent Specialist College (DISC) is based in central Manchester and offers a Digital Supported Internship for 16-24 year olds with an Education Health & Care Plan (EHCP). No formal academic qualifications are required to apply.
DISC support young people with a flair for digital and creative technology to prepare for adulthood and employment in the digital economy by developing and enhancing skills in graphic design, photography, website building, branding and marketing, film making, blogs etc. Maths and English tutoring is also offered if the intern has not already obtained a foundation level or GCSE in the subject. Classroom sizes are small and the staff are skilled professionals who also provide excellent pastoral care and mentoring. A Job Coach is also available to assist the intern into either work, self-employment or further study. Course length is from September to June.
