SEND Support Service

0 Reviews

The SEND Support service offers advice to education settings and services for the inclusion of children and young people at SEN Support. The service offers access to a range of school improvement programmes including accreditation against Bury's local Inclusion Quality Mark standards and entry to a SEND School Improvement programme. SEND Support Service work is embedded within section 6 of the SEND Code of Practice, and advice and support is aligned with Bury's Local Offer and Graduated Approach Toolkit.

The Inclusion Quality Mark standards set out the provision that is expected to be ordinarily available in Bury schools and can be downloaded from this page. The standards are due to be reviewed or replaced to align with the National Standards announced in the SEND and AP Improvement Plan (DfE, March 2023). A link to this paper can be found on the left-hand side of the page. A set of standards for Ordinarily Available Provision in the Early Years is under development and due for release in November 2023.

The SEND Support Service also supports schools through the secondary Inclusion Partnerships and the primary Early Help Locality Areas. Links to further information can be found at the right hand side of the page.
