Mental Wellbeing and Coronavirus

Infectious disease outbreaks, like the current Coronavirus (Covid-19), can be scary and can affect our mental health. While it is important to stay informed, there are also many things we can do to support and manage our wellbeing during such times.

Help is available nationally from UK organisations, across Greater Manchester and locally here in Bury, to help with your mental wellbeing during this challenging time.

The Greater Manchester Health & Social Care Partnership has developed a website offering lots of useful covid-19 health and wellbeing resources.

Locally- Bury

In addition to the resources on the Greater Manchester website, support is available for those who feel they need more help locally here in Bury;

  • Bury Healthy Minds and CAMHS are both operating a remote service with telephone and email support, referrals can be made via their websites, services are operating with reduced staff and will do their best to help you.
  • Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust also has coronavirus (covid-19) guidance on their website.
  • A new Greater Manchester service is providing a Covid-19 Support line for BAME communities, call 07862 279289 / 07894 126157

  • Bury has a number of Community Groups dedicated to supporting people with their mental health and wellbeing. They have adjusted their services to provide telephone / video / email support during the covid-19 outbreak, and will do their best to support you.
  • The Creative Living Centre offer 121 emotional support.
  • ADAB support people from black, asian and minority ethnic communities.
  • BIG in Mental Health offer peer support.
  • Earlybreak support children, young people and their families.
  • The Fed and Neshomo offer mental health support to the Jewish community.

Bury Community Hubs are live across Bury and provide practical support, delivery of food and medical supplies to the most vulnerable during the covid-19 outbreak.
