BIG in Mental Health Drop-In

During the COVID-19 lockdown, our service is not seeing people in person, like many other services.

So, to accommodate the needs of people in experiencing mental health, we are making two significant changes during this period.

We are offering video support groups via Zoom. It’s really easy to use. You just need an internet connected device. Once you have downloaded the App, we do all the technical stuff.

We are running a phone support service. That means, we are ringing people up to check in with them, provide emotional support and signposting and referrals to other services when needed.

For more information please contact the team on 07758737616 (office hours Mon-Fri), or email jordanfahy@buryinvolvementgroup.org

The BIG in Mental Health DROP-IN group is open to anyone over the age of 18.

The group free and open to anyone living with a mental health condition who feels they need support. People come to talk and enjoy themselves in a relaxed environment with a friendly environment. The group provides a good opportunity for people who haven't attend a BIG group before a chance to speak to a volunteer one on one to get more comfortable with the groups, find out more about what we offer and what other support is available in the community. You will have the opportunity to meet others who understand how you feel and are willing to listen and provide peer support.

Call in anytime between 1pm and 3pm for a CHAT and a cup of tea/coffee.

Venue: Bury United Reformed Church, Parsons Lane, Bury, BL9 0LY

Every Friday 1pm – 3pm

Friendly and supportive. No referrals. No waiting lists. Just turn up.

What people say:

“Before coming to BIG I felt isolated and couldn’t talk to people about mental illness as I was afraid of stigmatisation & rejection. Now I can talk openly to people at BIG and outside in general. If I am feeling low I know I will feel better if I attend BIG.”
