The Annual Review is the statutory process by which a child/young person's progress in concerning the outcomes set out in the EHCP are reviewed. The Annual Review also considers whether the provision and targets in the EHCP are up-to-date and relevant. The review is an opportunity to consider whether the EHCP is still necessary to support the child/young person’s needs in the future, and to plan the outcomes for the coming year, setting new outcomes if necessary.

Annual Reviews should be person-centred and hold the wishes and aspirations of the child/ young person and their family at the centre of all planning and decision-making.
