Getting Started
There are many varied situations in which you may need support such as:
You may be finding it difficult to do the everyday things around your home;
You may have a short-term illness or injury or been in hospital and need some short-term care while you recover;
You may be living with a physical disability and require specific equipment to help you live more independently;
You may be living with a learning disability and need support to help you do the things that you want to do; or
You may be looking after someone but need a bit more help to do this.
The first step is to complete a care needs assessment so we can find out whether you are eligible for Social Care Services and how best to help you.
Independent Advocacy
It is important you are able to be fully involved in your assessment and support planning.
If you wish, a friend or family member can help and represent you at any time. Where you do not have anyone you can ask, and you have a lot of difficulty in being involved yourself, one of the ways we can support you is by making an independent advocate available to you.
What else is available to support me?
Whether or not you are eligible for financial support from us for your care and support, there are many organisations and services in the community available to help you, many of which you do not need an assessment to access.
You can also contact care providers privately.
